The Alpha Group was formed in 2005 as an independent and privately held specialty insurer focusing on insurance solutions for large corporates and specialty insurance program business in the European market through its main subsidiaries at the time (in 2009 these two companies were merged) Alpha Insurance A/S, Gaia Insurance A/S both based in Copenhagen and Nemi Insurance AS based in Oslo. The Group currently writes in excess of DKK 1,000 million in premium and has total assets in excess of DKK 2,700 million.
