Alpha Group in Denmark completes the acquisition of NEMI Forsikring ASA in Norway (PDF 28 KB)

The Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway has in a letter dated 13 May 2009 given Gaia Insurance A/S, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Alpha Group, permission to buy 100% of the shares in Nemi Forsikring ASA. The purchase which was announced in a press release dated 4 March 2009 has thus been completed per today and Nemi Forsikring ASA is now a part of the Alpha Group. Alpha Group has equity of approx. MNOK 400 and total assets are aprox. MNOK 3.500.

In an extraordinary general meeting in NEMI Forsikring ASA today, a new board of directors has been elected with the following members:
Chairman Leif Corinth-Hansen, Partner Alpha Group
Dep. Chairman Bo Lundqvist, Partner Alpha Group
Board member Anne Gro Sundby, Partner Advokatfirmaet Schjødt Da
Board member Mona Hansen, Staff representative

Ivar K.Z. Pedersen who has been the temporary CEO since January 2009, will now take this position on a permanent basis.

Alpha Group has licences in several EU-countries and writes business in this region including Norway. NEMI will be an important strategic part of Alpha Group and continue to operate as an independent company.
